Why is architecture special to you?

To me, architecture feels like the most personal and useful art form. It is something that can directly change a life and how someone moves through the world. It’s special because it has the capability to create an interactive experience that can be engraved in one’s memory and inspire more creativity for the future.

What do you hope to accomplish as an architect/designer in the future?

I hope to make a name for myself as a designer that creates unforgettable experiences, builds and strengthens fruitful communities, and paves a way for future designers no matter their circumstances.

What is something you are looking forward to in design school this year?

I’m looking forward to my Cooperative Housing studio so that I can get more experience working with a residential project and the challenges that come with it. I am also hopeful about getting hired for an internship that can help me grow as a designer and give me real-world experience in the architectural profession.

“This project is a library that was meant to act as a center/heart of the surrounding community in Springdale, Arkansas. The main ideas of the project were to create a community monument in a relatively plain surrounding context, to span the full site to make use of as much of the land as possible, and to create ground-level views through the structure.”
